Second American Civil War, Lost???

 Second American Civil War, Lost???

The truth is that the Second American Civil War is...almost over.  Unlike the first one, the Democrats appear to be a near lock to win.

In 2003, Joe Biden Filibustered and Voted Against Nomination of a Black Woman to the Federal Bench

BY RICK MORAN JAN 27, 2022 2:27 PM ET I

n 2003, then-President George W. Bush nominated Janice Rogers Brown, an associate justice on the California Supreme Court to serve as a Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. She was the first black woman nominated for the federal bench.

But Rogers Brown had a problem; she was a libertarian-conservative and refused to play ball with civil rights organizations.

One of her major decisions was a dissent in the case of forcing cigarette manufacturers to put warning labels on packs and cartons. A truly libertarian decision. She also attacked the New Deal, which gave us Social Security and other programs as “the triumph of our socialist revolution.” You can imagine the anger of her liberal colleagues over that one.

But Joe Biden, champion of civil rights and the president who has gloried in naming the first minorities to several positions in his administration, filibustered against her nomination and voted twice against her. When Biden had the chance to vote for a black woman, he declined.

Breitbart:

On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Ingraham Angle,” host Laura Ingraham contrasted President Joe Biden’s vow to nominate a black woman to the Supreme Court to replace outgoing Justice Stephen Breyer with then-Sen. Biden’s opposition to and multiple filibusters of the nomination of Janice Rogers Brown to the federal bench by then-President George W. Bush in 2003 and 2005 and remarked that “race and gender, they only count if you’re thought to be a committed judicial activist, judicial leftist.”

CCP Owns Biden - Lock Him Up

Must-see TV: Mark Levin interview with Peter Schweizer exposes $31 million in CCP money to the Biden family and much more

Sunday's edition of Life, Liberty, and Levin, the one-hour long-form interview show hosted by Mark Levin on Fox News, is essential viewing.  If you don't have just over a half-hour to watch the almost-complete show (embedded below), I strongly recommend that you spend a mere 3 minutes and 20 seconds watching a summary of Peter Schweizer's research findings on the Biden family's gigantic payday "for no discernible work" from corporate entities controlled by members of the CCP elite.

Zogby Poll: Biden lied to get elected and life is worse. Americans are Catching On

SOUNDS LIKE THE PUBLIC UNDERSTANDS WHAT’S GOING ON:

Zogby Poll: Biden lied to get elected and life is worse.

Voters are not buying President Joe Biden’s claim that he didn’t overpromise during the 2020 election but has been thwarted by the GOP, and they instead feel he lied just to get elected, according to a new survey.

In the latest Zogby Poll, provided to Secrets, more voters than not said Biden oversold to the point of “lying” in his campaign against former President Donald Trump.

Asked if Biden has “delivered” on campaign promises or “was lying just to get elected,” 45.7% chose lying and 38.2% chose delivering on promises. The rest of the voters were unsure.

The polling analysis cited Biden’s failure to end the COVID-19 crisis, but it also noted inflation and other problems that are driving key support groups into GOP arms.

There are more Democrats abandoning ship and calling for the president not to run in 2024. Things are so bad for the Democrats right now; you are starting to see Bill and Hillary Clinton reappear in public. Imagine, Democrats trotting out Hillary as the change candidate in 2024! That could make Donald Trump look appealing to swing voters!” the poll analysis said.

Zogby Analytics also looked at life under Biden, and the breakdown was similar, with more than not saying that Biden has made their life worse.

Well, that’s because he has, and it’s no accident.

‘Our Democracy™’: Oligarchy With Democratic Trappings.

 YEP:

‘Our Democracy™’: Oligarchy With Democratic Trappings.

Over the past few months, it has become common for Democrats and progressives to invoke “Our Democracy”™ whenever they criticize efforts to ensure election integrity or condemn the perpetrators of the January 6 “insurgency.” On one level, the phrase is just another annoying example of debasing the language by the very people who have been working overtime to rewrite the Constitution.

But on another level, the phrase suggests something even more sinister: that those who invoke it literally mean “their” democracy, i.e. a regime that belongs to them, validated by the votes of the “right people” who approve of their so-called progressive enterprise. Anyone who doesn’t approve is, by definition, an insurgent, an enemy of the state. Any attempt to limit their power—e.g., by insisting on election integrity—is therefore “anti-democratic.”

Indeed.

FBI/DOJ Jan 6th Trap (Julie Kelley)

FBI Jan 6th Trap

Of the more than 725 Americans arrested so far for various crimes related to the Capitol protest on January 6, 2021, nearly every defendant faces the same two misdemeanor charges: “entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds” and “disorderly conduct in a restricted building or grounds.”

The basis for the offenses is not, as the American people repeatedly have been told, that the building was closed to the public that day. After all, hundreds of people were allowed inside as Capitol police stood by; no signage or official announcements alerted the public that the building was off-limits.

Instead, the Justice Department has argued that the presence of both Vice President Michael Pence and incoming Vice President Kamala Harris rendered entry into the Capitol on January 6 a federal crime under 18 U.S. Code section 1752.

Of Cabals and Elections (The Glee of Dems in 2020)

Of Cabals and Elections

January 24, 2022 Updated: January 24, 2022

Commentary

Kids say the darndest things.

So does President Joe Biden.

Maybe the darndest of the president’s many darn expostulations (I confine myself to those that are intelligible) was his warning last week that the 2022 elections “easily could be illegitimate.”

Why would the president of the United States—joined by his vice president, Kamala Harris—preemptively warn that an election some 10 months in the future might be illegitimate?

Because, like the rest of the Democratic faithful, the only elections he regards as legitimate are ones that the Democrats win.

Thanks to Senators Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who broke ranks and voted against Sen. Chuck Schumer’s effort to gut the filibuster, the Democrats’ effort to nationalize presidential elections failed.

That’s a win for the Constitution, of course, which vests the power to determine election rules in the state legislatures.

It’s a loss for the Democrats, though, because it has become increasingly clear that they cannot win presidential elections without fiddling with the rules.

The trouble this time is the plunging poll numbers of the entire Democratic establishment.

Joe’s numbers are in the tank.

Kamala’s are under the tank.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s are lost somewhere in an abandoned exploratory tunnel excavated by Elon Musk’s Boring Company.

Every psephologist in Alpha Centauri expects the Democrats to lose the House in a historic tsunami of red redress.

The Democrats will lose 40, 50, maybe 60 seats.

Some are predicting 70 seats will switch from blue to red in the House.

The Senate is more dicey, but more and more observers believe that the GOP will flip the Senate as well.

But remember the premise.

Elections are only legitimate if Democrats win.

The 2022 midterms are almost certain to be a rout for Democrats, especially in the House but also, if by a less dramatic margin, in the Senate and in many state elections.

Ergo, to the Democratic mouthpiece, the midterm elections will by definition be illegitimate.

To rubes like you and me, that seems preposterous.

We think that a free, open, and democratic election is one in which the election rules are known beforehand and everyone who is entitled to vote has an equal opportunity to do so.

That goes completely against the grain of the anti-democratic Democratic mindset.

One of the most remarkable essays about the 2020 election was

_________________________________

The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election,”

published in Time magazine last February.

By “saved the election,” the author meant “saved the election for the Democrats.

This is Time, so the anti-Trump animus is patent on every page.

What’s remarkable, though, is that the author cheerfully—almost gleefully—describes exactly how a cabal of anti-Trump operatives swung the election against Trump and then stymied his efforts to challenge the results.

“There was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes,” we read.

Isn’t that exactly what Trump partisans argued, much to the ridicule and contempt of their political opponents?

Yes, but it’s different when they do it.

Why?

Shut up.

What began gelling in 2019 was what Time frankly acknowledged was a “well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information.”

This cabal, Time noted, “touched every aspect of the election.”

We knew that, right?

Taken out of context, the litany Time recited sounds almost exactly like what many pro-Trump commentators charged:

“They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding.”

Yes, isn’t that what we “conspiracy theorists” were saying all along?

“They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time.”

Yep.

“They successfully pressured social media companies to take a harder line against disinformation and used data-driven strategies to fight viral smears.”

True, too true, except that by “disinformation” they meant certain facts about how the voting actually proceeded.

As Glenn Reynolds noted in December, “America now faces a dangerous time, internationally, domestically and economically, with obviously inadequate leadership at the top. If disaster ensues, the people who openly bragged about their efforts to install the Biden administration may wish they had kept quiet.”

Wokism - Cruel and Unjust (VDH)

Wokism - Cruel and Unjust (VDH)

Wokeism has been described by its critics as the omnipresent use of race—and to a lesser extent, gender—to replace meritocracy and thus ensure equality of result. What follows from implementing that ideology are reparatory actions to reward those of the present by atoning for the injustices done to others in the past.

Some see it as an update of 1960s cultural Marxism fads. Others scoff that it is just a return to 1980s-style political correctness.

Still more see it as the logical successor to 1990s-type race, class, and gender obsessions—albeit with a shriller and more dangerous Jacobin, Soviet, and Maoist twist. Wokeism’s hysteria also invites comparisons to the Salem witch trials and McCarthyism.

But few have described wokeism as the cruel creed that it is.

  • Covid: Dr. Fauci said he is “confident as you can be” that the Omicron wave in the US will peak by mid-February. In a growing number of states, that peak has already come and gone and cases are plunging in states like New York and Florida. Other states, such as Oklahoma, Idaho, and Wyoming, are still reporting an uptick in new Covid cases.

Is America Heading for System Collapse?

Is America Heading for System Collapse?

In modern times, as in ancient Rome, several nations have suffered a “systems collapse.” The term describes the sudden inability of once prosperous populations to continue with what had ensured the good life as they knew it.

VDS lays it out:Where we are heading.

Abruptly, the population cannot buy, or even find, once plentiful necessities. They feel their streets are unsafe. Laws go unenforced or are enforced inequitably. Everyday things stop working. The government turns from reliable to capricious if not hostile.

Consider contemporary Venezuela. By 2010, the once well-off oil-exporting country was mired in a self-created mess. Food became scarce, crime ubiquitous.

Radical socialism, nationalization, corruption, jailing opponents, and the destruction of constitutional norms were the culprits.

Between 2009 and 2016, a once relatively stable Greece nearly became a Third World country. So did Great Britain in its socialist days of the 1970s.

Joe Biden’s young presidency may already be leading the United States into a similar meltdown.

Hard Left “woke” ideology has all but obliterated the idea of a border. Millions of impoverished foreigners are entering the United States illegally—and during a pandemic without either COVID-19 tests or vaccinations.

The health bureaucracies have lost credibility as official communiques on masks, herd and acquired immunity, vaccinations, and comorbidities apparently change and adjust to perceived political realities.

After decades of improving race relations, America is regressing into a premodern tribal society.

Crime soars. Inflation roars. Meritocracy is libeled and so we are governed more by ideology and tribe.

The soaring prices of the stuff of life—fuel, food, housing, health care, transportation—are strangling the middle class.

Millions stay home, content to be paid by the state not to work. Supply shortages and empty shelves are the new norm.

Nineteenth century-style train robberies are back. So is 1970s urban violence, replete with looting, carjackings, and random murdering of the innocent.

After the Afghanistan debacle, we have returned to the dark days following defeat in Vietnam, when U.S. deterrence abroad was likewise shattered, and global terrorism and instability were the norms abroad.

Who could have believed a year ago that America would now beg Saudi Arabia and Russia to pump more oil—as we pulled our own oil leases, and canceled pipelines and oil fields?

Our path to systems collapse is not due to an earthquake, climate change, a nuclear war, or even the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead, most of our maladies are self-inflicted. They are the direct result of woke ideologies that are both cruel and antithetical to traditional American pragmatism.

Hard-Left district attorneys in our major cities refuse to charge thousands of arrested criminals—relying instead on bankrupt social justice theories.

Law enforcement has been arbitrarily defunded and libeled. Police deterrence is lost, so looters, vandals, thieves, and murderers more freely prey on the public.

“Modern monetary theory” deludes ideologues that printing trillions of dollars can enrich the public, even as the ensuing inflation is making people poorer.

“Critical race theory” absurdly dictates that current “good” racism can correct the effects of past bad racism. A once tolerant, multiracial nation is resembling the factionalism of the former Yugoslavia.

The culprit again is a callous woke ideology that posits little value for individuals, prioritizing only the so-called collective agenda.

Woke’s trademark is “equity,” or a forced equality of result. Practically, we are becoming a comic-book version of victims and victimizers, with woke opportunists playacting as our superheroes.

Strangest in 2021 was the systematic attack on our ancient institutions, as we scapegoated our ancestors for our own incompetencies.

The woke have waged a veritable war against the 233-year-old Electoral College and the right of states to set their own balloting laws in national elections, the 180-year-old filibuster, the 150-year-old nine-person Supreme Court, and the 60-year-old, 50-state union.

The U.S. military, Department of Justice, FBI, CIA, Center for Disease Control, and National Institutes of Health until recently were revered. Their top echelons were staffed by career professionals mostly immune to the politics of the day.

Not now. These bureaus and agencies are losing public confidence and support. Citizens fear rather than respect Washington grandees who have weaponized politics ahead of public service.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, Attorney General Merrick Garland, former FBI heads like James Comey and Andrew McCabe, retired CIA director John Brennan, and Anthony Fauci head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases—politicalized and vastly exceeded their professional purviews.

They sounded off in public fora as if they were elected legislators up for reelection. Some lied under oath. Others demonized critics. Most sought to become media darlings.

This governmental freefall is overseen by a tragically bewildered, petulant, and incompetent president. In his confusion, an increasingly unpopular Joe Biden seems to believe his divisive chaos is working, belittling his political opponents as racist Confederate rebels.

As we head into the 2022 midterm elections, who will stop our descent into collective poverty, division—and self-inflicted madness?
